Custom Orthotics
At TrueMotion Physical Therapy we provide services to evaluate and cast for custom foot orthotics.
Custom foot orthotics can be an awesome tool to help supplement your current workout or rehab program. Orthotics should never be used as a one-off to “fix” or fully alleviate pain in isolation. We always recommend implementing a program that ensures adequate strength and stability at the ankle, knees, and hips with utilization of our custom foot orthotics.
WHAT ARE CUSTOM FOOT ORTHOTICS?
Custom foot orthotics are insoles tailored to you and your needs, developed specifically to accommodate your unique foot structure and pathology, which can aid in injury prevention and resolution of current injuries.
WHY MIGHT I NEED CUSTOM FOOT ORTHOTICS?
Custom foot orthotics are an important consideration in the correction of lower extremity alignment and mechanical dysfunctions. If you have pain in your feet that is alleviated with taping support, orthotics may be right for you!
WHAT ARE THE GOALS FOR ORTHOTIC USE?
• Correct foot deformities
• Help painful feet function more advantageously
• Provide support to the ankle and structures of the foot
• Lessen risk of future injuries
HOW DO I GET CUSTOM FOOT ORTHOTICS?
Orthotics are only manufactured after our Physical Therapists complete a full biomechanical exam and gait analysis, looking at movement and posture of your feet, ankles, and legs. This ensures proper prescription of materials of the orthotics. After the evaluation, plaster casts of your feet are created to ensure the orthotics fit the unique contours of your foot.

Each pair of custom foot orthotics is created specifically with your body and your goals in mind, providing specific support and correction, and lasts much longer than off-the-shelf devices.
COST OF ORTHOTICS
Private Pay Rate: $350.00 (includes standard production and delivery) (if there is no insurance coverage)
The private pay price covers the cost of the orthotic device only. Patients and customers are still responsible for the office visits for evaluation/casting and fitting (insurance will be billed for the evaluation if possible, per applicable contracts).
Due to a large number of insurance companies that reject orthotic claims we do not submit orthotics to insurance now (with the exception of Aetna) and only take payment (via cash/credit/check) at the time of the orthotic fitting.
This does not prohibit you from submitting and appealing with your own insurance. We will provide you with the receipt you need. Our front office will do our best to verify benefits prior to your evaluation/casting visit but even verbal, online, or written approval from your insurance is no guarantee of payment for the visit or device.
ORTHOTIC FITTING
Upon delivery of the orthotic device(s) to TrueMotion Physical Therapy, we will call to notify you and make sure you have a fitting appointment.
DURING THE FITTING APPOINTMENT:
• The therapist will walk you through the process of weaning into the orthotics
• Any trimmings for the orthotics will be performed
• A review of shoe education in conjunction with orthotic use
